Ceramic classes for amateurs ,advanced and professionals - pottery-courses on the Cycladic Island of Tinos

The ceramic workshop 'Tinos Ceramics' is situated in a central and peaceful area on the Island of Tinos, just 2.5 miles north from the town of Tinos. The studio is near to the Medieval Road which connects the town to the Castle of Exombourgo, today used as a donkey and footpath. An excellent starting point for trekkers.

  Bernhard will teach you to throw pots on the potters wheel (4 electrical potters wheels are available), to glace and fire them using Raku - technique.
You'll get a lot of work experience for your favourite hobby, the long experiences in business of your course leaders as free lance potters and as ceramic teachers guarantee this. Course can be adapted to personal desires concerning main emphasis and course time.

Themes

  1. Throwing at the potters wheel and Raku. Max. 4 subscribers

  2. Hand-building, modelling, slab-building of pots or objects and Raku, min.4, max. 8 subscribers

  3. Mould-making, max. 5 subscriber, only for advanced


  • Independent of your choice we will teach you basics of clay-preparation, shrink and drying , glazing and firing.

  • According to our experiences we know that lessons longer that five hours a day are to heavy . We offer 5 hours a day, the rest is for other activities to enjoy your holidays as swimming, hiking etc.

  • Our students can use a small kitchen and a refrigerator, outside the studio is enough space for parking.

  • if you like to use the potters-wheel please bring a apron with you.

  • We have enough tools for our students, but if you like to use your special tools you may bring them with you.
